Next of Kin/Family Viewing - This double feature of Canadian director Atom Egoyan's first two films offers a chance not only to see two stunning early efforts from one of the 1990s best filmmakers, but also to see how he dealt with his main obsessions, sex, dysfunctional families, and video, as a young director. NEXT OF KIN follows Peter, a 23 year old man still living with his parents with whom he attends video therapy. However, when he sees the tape of an Armenian family who gave up their son for adoption years earlier, he decides to try and pass himself off as their long lost son. In FAMILY VIEWING, a young man named Van leaves home after he finds that his father has taped homemade pornography, featuring he and Van's stepmother, with whom Van is also sleeping with, over their old home videos.
