Boss SD 1 Super Overdrive Modified by Chuck's Tone Garage - Brand-new Modded SD-1. The tone of this SD-1 is more "open" than the stock unit. It has more low end - but not so much that it gets muddy, and has an overall louder, less compressed tone. Perfect for driving the front end of a tube amp. These tonal changes are accomplished bt changing a series of capacitors and some of the clipping diodes.This mod includes three chips: one JRC4558D, one RC4558P and a Burr Brown Chip. Switching chips is easily accomplished because of the IC socket I install on the PC board!I have also replaced the stock 3mm RED LED with 5mm VIOLET one to show that this is not the typical off-the-shelf SD-1!
