The 7 piece Saturn set is exacting enough for any and all studio applications and has been thoroughly road tested by nearly every professional artist on the Mapex roster.Every Saturn component on the SW7287U set is finished with eight hand-rubbed coats of high gloss lacquer. This unique finishing process gives the drum a beautifully deep, high gloss, protective shine.Saturn toms and snare drums are equipped with exclusive Mapex Powerhoops. Made from 2.3mm chrome steel, the Mapex Powerhoop provides less resistance without adding unnecessary weight that may mute the drum. The tom's mount is secured via the lugs and is not drilled directly into the shell. The Mapex I.T.S. System allows the shell to vibrate freely, allowing for maximum projection and resonance.
